GREETING

Everybody exactly have said Hello to other. And it is about greeting; the first word you say when have a meeting. 

Greeting is something you say ( hello ) or something you do when you meet someone
A. DAILY GREETINGS
      Good morning    >> 12 a.m - 12 p.m
      Good day            >> 12 p.m - 1 p.m
      Good afternoon >> 1 p.m   - 5 p.m
      Good evening     >> 5 p.      - 7 p.m
      Good night          >> after 8 p.m
B. MEETING AT THE FIRST TIME ( FORMAL )
      How do you do ?    >> How do you do
      Nice to meet you   >> Nice to meet you too
      How are you ?        >> I'm fine, thanks. How about you ?


C. GREETING PEOPLE ( INFORMAL / CASUAL )
  • Hi
  • Hello
  • Watcha !
  • What's up ?
  • How are you ?                        >> I'm fine, thanks. And you ?
                                                                  Pretty good / I don't feel good 
  • How are you doing ?             >> I'm doing good / I'm not well
  • How's life going on ?             >> It's going fine / Is not going well
  • How is everything ?              >> Everything is okay / I'm feeling unwell
  • Haven't seen you for ages  >> Yeah, it has been so long not to seeing you
D. SAYING GOODBYE ( LEAVE-TAKING )
     Informal :
  • Goodbye                            >> Bye (the end of meeting)
  • See you (later/around) >> Sure. See you.
     Formal :
  • Well, nice talking to you. I have to go, bye.
  • It was a pleasure seeing you
  • Good morning/afternoon/evening
  • Good night (commonly after 8 p.m)
NOTE :
  1. It good to say thank you when we meeting or seeing new friend that asking about our condition.
  2. How do you do is formal in the British English. It means hello.
  3. Saying goodbye when someone is going to go to bed can be used good night or have a nice dream.
  4. If you want to ending the meeting and hope will see he/she again in the certain time, here are the sentences can be used :
  • Hoping can seeing someone tomorrow morning : "Good bye. See you tomorrow morning".
  • Hoping can seeing someone in the uncertain time : "Bye, see you next time".
  • Hoping can seeing someone in the agreed time : "Goodbye, see you on Monday".
