PERFECT TENSE

Okay let's talk about Perfect Tense. I have just opened my English primbon and found this subject. Check these : 

A. PRESENT PERFECT TENSE
Present perfect tense is is a kind of tense that the sentence form used for talking about a period time to present has happened.
Positive form :
Subject + Have/Has + Been + Object/noun/adjective
Subject + Have/Has + V3 + Object

Negative form :
Subject + Have/Has + not + been + Object/noun/adjective
Subject + Have/Has + not + V3 + Object

Interrogative form :
Have/Has + Subject + Been + Object + ?
Have?Has + Subject + V3 + Object + ?

Examples :
+ He has been busy
-  He has not been busy
? Has he been busy ?

+ I have done my homework
-  I have not done my homework
?  Have I done my homework ?

The adverbs are usually used in the present perfect tense :
  • Already
  • Since
  • For
  • Occasionally
  • Just, etc
B. PAST PERFECT TENSE
Past perfect tense is a kind of tense that used for talking about a period of past time has happened.


Positive form :
Subject + Had + Been + Object/noun?adj
Subject + Had + V3 + Object/noun/adj


Negative form :
Subject + Had + Not + Been + Object/noun/adj
Subject + Had not + V3 + Object/noun/adj


Interrogative form :
Had + Subject + Been + Object/noun/adj + ?
Had + Subject + V3 + Object/noun/adj + ?


Examples :
+ You had been at home before night
-  You had not been at home before night
?  Had you been at home before night ?


+ John had waited for you for two hours
-  John had not waited for you for two hours
?  Had John waited for you for two hours ?


The adverb are usually used in the past perfect tense :
  • Before
  • Until
  • As soon as
  • After
  • When
  • While, etc
